Start of the Ras yr Aran Fell Race
A last minute decision to go to Llanuwchllyn as we weren't quite sure if the race was to go ahead due to Corona Virus!
We were up early so we could do some cycle training on Zwift as going to our favourite Park Run at Newborough was cutting it a bit fine to get to the race on time.
Sods law says when you start slightly late, you'll get held up on the way at some time. We we're held up for most of the way by a lot by a lot of slooooow cars and arrived with about ten minutes to spare, before the race started at 12 noon.
We knew that the winner would take about ninety minutes to complete the race, so, time for some dinner and a bit of a chat with some friends.
Soon enough, it was time to leave the nice warm van and head up the hill to take some photographs.
A fresh day on the slopes of Yr Aran started off well, but soon turned into wind and rain as it invariably does! It didn't stop and just got worse as the race went along. Soon enough, it was time to leave as the cameras, more than anything else were soaked!
Well done to everyone who competed and finished.
Finlay Wild took the honours in a time of 1:25:22, followed by Ross Gollan and Eoin Lennon in third, making this a clean sweep for the Scots.
In the womens race, Hannah Horsburgh from Keswick was first in a time of 1:36:01, followed by Victoria Wilkinosn (pictured below) in a time of 1:39:29. Third was Nichola Jackson, again from Keswick, in a time of 1:40:25.
